Almost five years ago, only five months after I had first learned how to sew, I decided that I wanted to make my own wedding dress. With a working idea of what I wanted, and a minimal amount of patterning skills, I was able to alter an existing pattern to suit my needs and construct my beautiful wedding gown in just over three month's time. From patterning, to sewing, to fitting, I did it all by myself.
